Privacy

This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. What it does connect to, and why:

  • GitHub (privacy statement): at start-up it reads the public list of this project's releases to look for a newer version, and downloads the release when you choose to update. Nothing about you or your mods is sent. Turn it off under Options > About (Check for a newer version at start-up). Making a GitHub release for an upload (Options > Uploading > After uploading) runs your own gh tool, only when you turn it on for a mods folder.
  • GitHub, for Drop Pod updates: Check for updates in The Drop Pod also reads the public latest release of each GitHub repository a Mods folder mod links in its About.xml, and downloads a release only when you tick that mod to update. Nothing about you or your mods is sent.
  • Steam (Valve privacy policy): uploads go through Valve's SteamCMD, which you sign in to yourself. The app reads public Workshop details and changelog pages for the Workshop ids in your mods folder, and downloads SteamCMD from Valve when you ask it to install it. Only the Workshop ids and RimWorld's app ID are sent. At start-up, once SteamCMD is installed, it asks Steam for the game's public branch list through SteamCMD's anonymous login (at most every 12 hours; turn it off under Options > SteamCMD).
  • Linear (privacy policy): only when you press Send in the request form (or Report it after a crash and then Send). It sends exactly the text shown in the form.
  • Discord (privacy policy): only when you add a webhook link for a mods folder; after an upload it posts the mod's name, Workshop link and change note there.
