RimWorld
Modwright
Load order, modlists and Workshop uploads for RimWorld.
Download v2.1.1
Windows 10 and 11. Always the newest release.
Windows desktop app for RimWorld mods, with two sides in one program:
- The Launch Pad (the Workshop uploader, for RimWorld mod authors): upload mod updates without remembering any commands. Open it, tick the mods, press Upload. It shows each mod's version and Workshop id, checks the changelog before sending anything, handles the Steam login, and shows progress bars and a live log.
- The Drop Pod (for RimWorld players): see every installed mod, sort the load order, keep modlists, find missing dependencies and clashes, run separate instances, match a save's mods and read the game's log. See The Drop Pod.
Modwright is built for RimWorld only. The upload logic is built in; the only outside tool it needs is SteamCMD. Before 2.0.0 The Launch Pad also had layouts for other games (Generic, Custom, Paradox, Golf With Your Friends), The Drop Pod also managed Sun Haven, and mods could be published to Thunderstore; those are gone.
Modwright was called SteamCMD Helper before 1.7.0. The program file (SteamCmdHelper.exe), its settings folder and
the GitHub repository keep the old name, so updates and existing settings carry on as before.
Modwright is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation, Steam or Ludeon Studios. Steam and SteamCMD are trademarks of Valve Corporation; RimWorld is a trademark of Ludeon Studios.
